Cute! Definitely not groundbreaking or life changing, but it was cute. I've been big time slacking on my reviews (oops…) and it's been a handful of weeks since I actually finished this one, so truthfully I don't remember a lot of the details. I can say that I'm glad this didn't end with her giving up her dream and job of being a celebrity musician for a man. I feel like that's been happening in a lot of the new contemporary romances I've been reading this year and I'm tired of men getting what they want because the women sacrifice for them. It's cute that he's the baker, but I feel like the grumpy trope was really forced on him. He was a kind, gentle guy but supposedly this really gloomy, broody guy, too? I don't know, it didn't feel necessary to add that bit to his character.
The banter was cute, the writing was easy to follow, and it was a good one to listen to at work to just kind of zone out with.
Basic, cute, fun small town vibes and good side characters, but I've already forgotten pretty much anything else.
I'll probably read her other books when I need a brain break, because this was good for exactly that.
